Project snapshots

Take a full, point-in-time backup of your entire project whenever you want extra peace of mind before a big change.

Version history covers individual documents automatically. Snapshots go a level further and back up the entire project at once, on demand.

Creating a snapshot

From the Snapshots section in the sidebar, select New Snapshot. It captures every chapter, character, note, and plot beat in the project as it exists right now.

Browsing and restoring

Snapshots are listed newest first. Restoring a snapshot replaces your current project state with what was captured. That’s useful before a major restructuring pass, a big edit you’re not sure about, or just as an extra layer of confidence beyond automatic version history.

Deleting a snapshot

Old snapshots you no longer need can be deleted individually from the same list.
