Writing goals, streaks & rest days

Set a daily word-count target, keep a streak of goal days alive with banked rest days, and watch your writer level climb.

Set a daily word-count target and Endra Studio tracks your progress and streak against it, across every project you write in.

Setting your daily goal

From your account’s writing settings, set a target word count for each day (the default is 500). Your progress against it shows on your dashboard and, while you write, in the info bar’s stats tab. Saving the goal needs a connection; the page says so and waits if you’re offline.

Streaks

A streak day is a day you hit your daily goal. Words from all your projects count together, in your account’s timezone, so a day ends when your day ends — not at a fixed UTC cutoff. The example project never counts. While you write in it, a note under the goal in the info bar says so, and the dashboard’s Continue writing card does too.

Your streak is the number of goal days in your current run. It shows on the dashboard beside today’s progress.

The moment you cross the goal, a card appears in the corner to say so — wherever you are, including mid-sentence in the editor. It has no buttons and stays until you dismiss it.

Raising your goal can shorten a streak and lowering it can lengthen one: the goal you have now is the one every past day is measured against.

Rest days

Life happens, so a missed day doesn’t have to end a streak. You start with 3 rest days banked. Every 3 goal days in a row earns one more, up to 7 — a full week off, if you’ve built up to it.

A missed day spends a rest day automatically; you don’t have to do anything. A day covered by a rest day keeps the run alive but isn’t counted as a goal day. With no rest days banked, a missed day ends the streak.

If you write offline, those words count on the day you wrote them once you sync. A rest day that was spent on that day is handed back.

Your writer level

Every word you type in a real project since streaks launched counts toward a level that only ever climbs — revision never lowers it, and pasting in a whole chapter doesn’t raise it (a single save that adds 1,000 or more words is treated as an import, not writing).

The ten ranks are Scribbler, Drafter (2,000 words), Storyteller (10,000), Novelist (50,000), Wordsmith (100,000), Author (250,000), Chronicler (500,000), Bard (1,000,000), Laureate (2,000,000) and Legend (5,000,000). The dashboard shows your rank and how far to the next.

The activity heatmap

A calendar-style heatmap on your dashboard shows your writing activity over time, with darker squares for higher word counts. The year summary beside it shows your best streak.
