Editor preferences

Set your default font, paragraph style, editor width, and zoom level. These apply everywhere you write, not per document.

A handful of preferences control how the editor looks and feels across every document you open. Set once, applied everywhere.

Font

Choose from six fonts: Georgia, Merriweather, Lora, EB Garamond, Inter, and Courier Prime. This changes how your prose displays in the editor; it doesn’t affect exported formatting.

Paragraph style

Two options:

• Block: paragraphs separated by spacing, no first-line indent.
• Manuscript: first-line indentation, no spacing between paragraphs, matching standard manuscript submission format.

Your choice here also determines which style is used when you export to .docx.

Editor width

Narrow, standard, or wide. Controls how much of the screen the editor’s text column uses, independent of your browser window size.

Zoom

100%, 125%, 150%, 175%, or 200%. Scales the editor’s text size without affecting your operating system’s overall zoom.

All four live together under your account’s editor settings, and each takes effect immediately without needing to reopen a document.
