Download everything in your project (manuscript, characters, locations, notes, boards, plot, assets, comments, and version history) as a single archive.

Where a .docx or Markdown export covers your manuscript’s text, a full project export covers everything else too.

What’s included

The archive contains everything in the project — manuscript, characters, locations, notes, boards, your Plot Board, assets, comments, tags, relationships, which characters appear in which scenes (and each one’s role there), and full version history — organized into folders by type inside the zip. Your project’s custom dictionary, the spelling and grammar flags you’ve ignored, the grammar rules you’ve turned off, and its spelling dialect travel with it. So do its character linking settings: whether names link automatically, the names you’ve told it to stop linking, and the characters you’ve taken out of particular scenes. So do your exports: each one’s kind, name, and settings, and every file made from it, the file itself included. Each document’s text is included twice: as structured data, and as a plain Markdown file you can read anywhere. Each board is also written as a JSON Canvas file, an open format other canvas tools can read.

Exporting

From your project’s home page, under Snapshots & export, select Download next to Export Project Data. Asset references inside the archive use relative paths, so the export is portable on its own rather than depending on Endra Studio’s servers to resolve image links.

Preparing the archive needs a connection, so it isn’t available while you’re offline.

When to take a full export

A full project export is the most complete copy of a project you can download, for an archive of your own or for moving your data somewhere else. Take one regularly, and always before major edits, so you have your own copy of anything you can’t afford to lose.
